Cybersecurity 101 for Election Officials
July 15, 2021 | Log and Monitor, Prevent Phishing and Malware, Beyond Simple Passwords, Update Your Defenses, Know What You Have, Backup and Recover
Data breaches, ransomware, denial-of-service attacks, and misleading election information are regular headlines in America, but election officials are uniquely positioned on the front lines to help safeguard our democracy while ensuring that each vote counts. That’s why the Center for Tech and Civic Life partnered with the Center for Democracy and Technology to create this first-of-its-kind online series on cybersecurity, already utilized by over 1,000 state and local election administrators.
The three cybersecurity courses empower election officials to manage cyber threats and communicate with the public about cybersecurity. Each self-paced course combines expert video instruction and exercises and brings together election officials and instructors to create a learning environment that’s informative and engaging. Take the courses at your own pace, on your own time, and completely online.
