The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), using a program funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), is partnering with the Global Cyber Alliance to provide valuable cybersecurity training workshops to Indiana Small Businesses. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) is charged with growing the State economy, driving economic development, helping businesses launch, grow and locate in the state. Led by Secretary of Commerce David Rosenberg and governed by a 15-member board chaired by Governor Eric J. Holcomb, the IEDC manages many initiatives, including performance-based tax credits, workforce training grants, innovation and entrepreneurship resources, public infrastructure assistance, and talent attraction and retention efforts. The IEDC is focused on creating an economy of the future and part of this is preparing businesses for growing threats. Cybersecurity is an important part of that strategy, and we hope you take advantage of one of these virtual training sessions so you can protect your business!
The Global Cyber Alliance (GCA) is an international nonprofit focused on delivering a secure, trustworthy Internet that enables social and economic progress for all. As part of this work, GCA has developed several cybersecurity toolkits, including the GCA Cybersecurity Toolkit for Small Business, which addresses the most common cyber risks affecting businesses who conduct any aspect of their business via email or over the Internet.
This training provides clear, actionable guidance, and relevant tools to help protect them from cyber risks faced on a daily basis. The training will guide the user through six best cyber hygiene practices including taking an inventory, applying security updates, utilizing strong passwords, implementing two-factor authentication, protecting against phishing and malware, and backing up data. All of the tools and resources in the toolkit are free to use and no registration is required to use the toolkit.
Join us for one of these virtual training session for an overview of the small business toolkit by GCA, including a Q&A session about cyber hygiene, the risks facing small businesses, and the use of the toolkit.
