Communicate Securely, Prevent Phishing and Malware,
Project Galileo: Cloudflare VPN (WARP)
Use this tool to secure all of your device’s Internet traffic.
Project Galileo is a free service from Cloudflare to protect the most vulnerable voices on the Internet from distributed denial of services (DDoS) attacks. The Internet is a powerful tool for spreading and expanding ideas. When journalist, social activists, and minority groups are repeatedly flooded with malicious traffic in an attempt to knock them offline, and keep them offline, the Internet stops fulfilling its promise. Project Galileo was founded in 2014 in response to the growing number of cyber attacks against important speech on the Web.
Cloudflare VPN (WARP) is an app for mobile and desktop designed for everyone that is looking for a more private Internet experience. WARP is not your typical VPN as it will allow you to access geo restricted content but is built to ensure that the data is secure while in transit. WARP uses Cloudflare’s global network to secure all of your device’s Internet traffic and encrypts all the traffic from your device and sends it directly to Cloudflare’s edge, ensuring that no one in between is snooping on what you’re doing. If the site you are visiting is already a Cloudflare customer, the content is immediately sent down to your device, keeping your traffic secure, private, and fast. As a note, WARP will not hide the user’s IP address from the websites they visit but encrypts the user data while in transit.
Users can configure their DNS servers with the Cloudflare VPN (WARP) on devices, or their router, to Cloudflare’s DNS Resolver (1.1.1.2) With 1.1.1.2 it automatically blocks known malware before your browser has a chance to load it. The new DNS servers are easy to set up and install, requiring just changing two numbers in the settings of your home devices or network router: your primary DNS and your secondary DNS. This secures your device from accessing known malware threats.
