This toolkit provides free operational tools to implement the best practices in the EI-ISAC’s Essential Guide to Election Security. Start by determining your maturity level.
Assess and manage the risk to your election infrastructure by using this risk profile tool from the Cybersecurity Infrastructure and Security Agency and the Election Assistance Commission.
The toolkit is intended to support election offices and community organizations to improve their resilience against threat posed by use of information and communication technology in elections.
The toolkit is designed to augment the security programs of election offices with free operational tools and guidance that have been selected and curated to implement the recommendations and best practices in the EI-ISAC’s Essential Guide to Election Security.

This toolkit is for and targeted at election offices, and the free tools in it are free specifically for election offices or generally.
“Time” defines the approximate time it will take to implement the tool, including installation and setup. Based on your system and experience, the time may be longer or shorter than the time estimated.
Requires minimal technical knowledge to complete setup. Users with little-to-no familiarity with computer systems will still easily be able to implement Level 1 tools.
Requires basic technical understanding of operating systems and settings controls. Users with a basic understanding will be able to easily implement Level 2 tools.
Requires an intermediate level of understanding to implement. Users will need an intermediate understanding of computer systems and code languages.
Requires advanced levels of understanding of computer systems, settings and code languages. Users will need experience with advanced system configurations.
